Pam Perry is a highly respected mediator and arbitrator, having resolved a wide variety of cases including commercial, professional malpractice, employment, health care, class and mass action, first party, coverage, appellate, receivership, personal injury, antitrust, land use and other disputes. She has been a certified mediator since 2004, is a Panel Member of the American Arbitration Association, a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator, and has published several articles concerning ADR in the Daily Business Review.
Pam has appeared on panels at the Dade County Bar Association’s Bench and Bar Conferences and often addresses the importance of carefully preparing the mediator long before the mediation session. She also gave the keynote address at the Spellman-Hoeveler American Inn of Court, South Florida Trial Lawyers Luncheon, and appeared on the ABA Panel, “Top Ten Mistakes We’re Making in Mediation and Didn’t Even Know It.” In addition, she moderated or participated in the Legal Malpractice and Professional Liability Roundtable sponsored by the University of Miami Center for Ethics and Public Service for several years, and is frequently asked to mediate or arbitrate professional malpractice, high profile and other sensitive matters.
Prior to becoming a full time neutral, Pam spent decades handling complex commercial, professional malpractice, and health care matters. She also represented individuals accused of misconduct by federal and state authorities, taught Federal Criminal Practice as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law, and handled appeals and provided legal support to other lawyers. Many of her clients retained her in the midst of proceedings that threatened to change the course of their personal, financial and professional lives, and she recognizes the importance of working carefully and creatively on every matter she handles.
Pam has played a variety of roles in her community, including serving as the Chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit; the first woman President of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (Miami Chapter); a member of the Miami-Dade County Charter Review Task Force; a member of the Florida Bar Committee on Judicial Independence; a Director of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue K-9 Response Foundation; and the vice-chair of the Miami -Dade Independent Civilian Panel.
Pam has been an AV-rated lawyer since 1990, received the G. Kirk Hass Humanitarian Award from The Florida Bar, and is regularly listed in Florida Super Lawyers, Florida Trend Legal Elite, South Florida Legal Guide, and other listings that would have made her mother proud.
